DIQUEZ BABY LOTION

Sleep Time

Keeping baby’s skin healthy is a very important part of overall baby care. Why? you ask, it’s because baby’s skin is about 30% thinner than adult skin and loses moisture twice as fast. This means baby’s skin is more sensitive and more easily irritated. Keep in mind exposure to ingredients like parabens and dyes can also cause skin irritation as well as a mild allergic reaction. All of this can lead to an irritable and cranky infant and who wants that?

Skin is the largest organ on the human body and the first line of defense against bacteria and other microorganisms. Healthy skin ranges from 4.5 to 6 pH which is slightly acidic so it fights off unwanted germs. As the skin becomes more neutral, which is about a pH of 7, we may find we develop skin problems.

Babies are born with a neutral pH which rapidly becomes acidic so that their delicate skin is protected against microbes. This rapid change sometimes causes ‘baby acne’. Use products that help correct this imbalance so that baby’s skin can return to its naturally smooth and perfect condition.

Bath Time

Don't miss a spot.

When bathing your little one make sure to clean between his folds and creases. Especially the neck area and joints. When finished gently pat baby’s skin dry. Don’t forget to dry those folds and behind the ears. Massage baby’s skin with Diquez Lotion or Baby Oil which is specially formulated to maintain baby’s soft skin.

Cleaning your baby's eyes.

Before undressing baby for a bath clean each eye with a piece of Diquez cotton wool. Use a fresh piece for each eye, gently wiping from the inner corner to the outer edge of the eye.

Important things to remember!

Some important things to remember – never leave baby alone in the bath, avoid distractions so a good idea is to turn off your phone. Take off jewellery and watches to avoid accidentally scratching baby’s delicate skin. Be sure to wash your hands before attending to your little one.

Cleaning your infant's face.

Diquez Cotton Balls are great for cleaning your infant’s face. Use them to gently wipe around baby’s nose. Don’t put anything inside as this can hurt the sensitive lining of the nostrils.

Your baby's delicate ears.

Wipe behind and the outer area of your infant’s ears with Diquez Cotton Balls. Never insert anything including cotton buds inside of the ear. Baby’s ears are very delicate, and this can easily cause damage.

The best time for your baby's bath.

Bath time can be any time of the day although it is best to pick a time that you know you won’t be interrupted and you’re feeling relaxed. It’s also a good idea to avoid bathing your little one when she’s hungry or right after a feed. If baby seems more relaxed after a bath it may be a good idea to bathe her to settle her in for the evening.
It is said that lavender helps to calm and promote relaxation. Diquez Sleep Time Lotion is infused with Lavender.

No baths until the umbilical cord falls off naturally!

In the first few weeks after birth your newborn will need to have his umbilical cord taken care of until it falls off naturally. Before this happens, your infant should only have sponge baths which is really just wiping baby’s skin gently with a slightly damp wash cloth.
